Job description
About the role
Trawvid Sec needs an independent sales representative who can help identify and introduce qualified prospects for cybersecurity advisory, CMMC readiness, vCISO support, security program development, and risk reduction work.
This is not a quota-carrying employee position and not a generic lead-generation role. The right person should be able to recognize a real business trigger, make a clean introduction, and keep expectations accurate while Trawvid Sec handles scoping, pricing, client acceptance, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Identify prospective clients or referral relationships where Trawvid Sec may be a practical fit.
- Make warm introductions with accurate context about the prospect, relationship, business trigger, and timing.
- Explain Trawvid Sec services in general terms using approved public positioning and materials.
- Help coordinate introductory conversations when invited.
- Support follow-up activity only within the role boundaries approved by Trawvid Sec.
- Flag conflict, disclosure, procurement, regulated-professional, or sensitive information concerns before they create risk.
Good fit
- Experience in relationship-based sales, referral development, business development, consulting, technology, cybersecurity-adjacent work, or professional services.
- A network that may include SMB owners, operators, manufacturers, DoD-adjacent businesses, MSPs, advisors, insurance or finance professionals, or other trusted business relationships.
- Ability to qualify a business conversation without pretending to be the cybersecurity advisor.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Comfort working under a written independent contractor agreement with defined authority and information-handling boundaries.
Not a fit if
- You want authority to quote pricing, negotiate terms, sign agreements, or commit Trawvid Sec to work.
- You rely on spam, fear-based outreach, misleading claims, or pressure tactics.
- You want to promise compliance, certification, audit results, breach prevention, legal conclusions, insurance approval, or customer acceptance.
- You expect lifetime commissions or payment for vague names rather than accepted qualified opportunities.
- You need Trawvid Sec to treat this as an employee role with benefits, paid leave, or guaranteed hours.
Compensation and contract terms
This is a commission-based independent contractor opportunity. Compensation is handled under a written agreement after role fit, conflict considerations, and expectations are reviewed.
Commission eligibility depends on accepted referrals or approved active sales support, client acceptance, collected payment, appropriate disclosure, and clean conflict handling. Trawvid Sec does not pay for vague names, unaccepted leads, or opportunities already active before the introduction.
Important boundaries
These boundaries are part of the role. They protect prospects, clients, referral sources, and Trawvid Sec.
- No authority to bind Trawvid Sec or accept work on its behalf.
- No pricing, contract negotiation, discounting, or proposal commitments unless Trawvid Sec gives written approval.
- No collection or forwarding of passwords, MFA codes, recovery codes, private keys, CUI, FCI, client evidence, confidential customer artifacts, financial secrets, identity documents, or sensitive technical materials.
- No representation that Trawvid Sec is a C3PAO, law firm, insurance broker, managed IT provider, 24/7 monitoring provider, or incident response firm.
- Disclosure is required when a compensation relationship could affect how a prospect evaluates the recommendation.
